People Who SHOULD NOT Teach Our Children

Hello all,
O.k. anyone who is reading this should know me well enought to know that the following comments are not racially motivated.

As much as I enjoy learning about other cultures and feel that our school systems lack enough culturally teaching, I have to say that if you cannot speak English well yourself you should not be trying to teach elementary school children.

I was a sub yesterday and my parapro was an asian woman who even I couldn't have a good conversation with because she didn't understand what I was trying to say. Then she jumped all over the kids when they weren't doing anything wrong and complained that they were going to give her heart failure.

I do understand that the asian culture, as a general rule not all the time, is curt, to-the-point, and has no flourish for sensitivity. For that culture those are perfectly fine, if someone went to an asian country my first thought would be to expect that type of treatment, but it really pissed me off (pardon my french) that she couldn't speak the language well and then was rude and mean to the kids.

O.K. I'll calm down now. Just had to vent my soapbox.
